Collecting a Sky
-A thread that crosses the landscape-

The special exhibition “Collecting a Sky – A Thread Across the Landscape” introduces a US-Japan collaborative art project by textile artists Mariko Kobayashi and Andrea Myers.

Based in the Shiba district of Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, the artworks were created in collaboration with local businesses and are currently on display at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.
Set against Yumeshima, one of the world’s important stopover sites for migratory birds, the works use fabric and clothing to express contemporary ecosystems and environmental issues.

Please enjoy the exhibition’s exploration of art, community, and cross-national collaboration.
